Details

This model is clumsy and awkward, lacking balance and a sense of proportion. The doublet is short-waisted, the neckline frequently cut low, the sleeves are very tight, and the small slops, giving width and bulk to the hips, narrow to open tubes at the knee. In the doublet, all seams and edges are heavily braided. A falling band (collar) is attached to the low open neckline, while the waistline terminates in tabs. The armhole curves inwards towards the chest. The joining of the sleeve is covered by an epaulette which rises up and away from the shoulder line to fit closely around the upper arm. Small slops are heavily pleated to a waistband of the doublet.
