Details
Prohibition, the spread of Jazz, and the development of mass media are the hallmarks of the 1920s. To forget the war young people immersed themselves in the Afro-influenced Jazz Age and enamored themselves of the new motion picture stars: Clara Bow, Louise Brooks, Rudolf Valentino, and Josephine Baker. The 1920s see the birth of three major women´s fashion magazines: Vogue, The Queen, and Harper´s Bazaar. For women, makeup, posture, and hairdressing become important fashion factors in addition to clothing. In particular, cosmetics grows to become a major industry.
