Details
Although the high-waist fashion of this period did not require the use of a corset, women who had lost their shape, or who had never had one, wore a corset over a long shirt. The new length of the corset, less boned than the one of the end of the previous century, gave a smooth and sliding shape on the hips and on the thighs. In addition, the torso earned a more natural contour.
